There are lots of blogs telling where to go skiing, so I am not going to dwell on this. This is really only helpful for next year, most of these are slushy by now.
Metabief: family favorite. Often sunny, really long green run, plenty of classes. Kids are free until 6.
Col de la Faucille: close, good classes for kids. Kids free until 5.
Lelex: good chance of sun within 20 min of Geneva! Fantastic! Quite long runs for the Jura, this is my close (x) good optimized favorite. Kids free until 5.
On the other side:
Morillon: best longest green run in the world (anecdotally). Kids free until 5.
Les Gets: Nice place, friendly atmosphere, kids area based on Native Americans is a little strange, but fun for them so I’ll go with it. They seem to have ‘Ski in Famille’ here where they take care of family needs really well (means mommies get to ski and apres ski, yeay!)
aside: my favorite website is skiresort.info because it has site-by-site weather forecasts as well as all the piste maps and such. I found Metabief this way because it was the sunniest thing around and had lots of kms of green.
